The Carbon Comp tend to get brittle from the tube heat. But if you have bias on pin 5 they are probably ok. Probably should have changed the 1.5k grid stopper too. Looks like the screen grid resistors were changed. Make sure the input switching jack is making contact. check for, loose grounds, could be control nuts, speaker jacks etc. So like others posted, back up,and see what is working, meaning does the noise happen in both channels? If you lightly roll the preamp or small tube in the socket, and the amp makes a bunch of loud noise, the sockets are probably dirty,or could be tube pins. The rest of the amp looks clean and mostly stock except for the electrolytic caps. This era, and so many models, plus you never know who or what has even been done before, you just have to look. But since I couldn't see the PT in the first pic. Clean and sounds great.I just took a among the few other things. 1968 Fender Bandmaster - $900 (Lawrence)ฤก968 Fender Bandmaster. As you can see in the provided photos, th. Fender included the black face circuit in their amplifiers until mid 1968. All components appear to be original with the exception of one of the transformers which is dated 2009. This is a 1968 Fender Bandmaster Silver Face with the AB763 Black face circuit. 1968 Fender Bandmaster Silver face with AB763 Black face circuit - $650 (Stevens Point).I'm the second owner since 1971.On rollers. (Bandmaster Tweed, Bandmaster Reverb AA1069, AA270, AA763, Silverface. Vibrato side nonfunctioning at this time. All new tubes and new Jensen replacement speakers. 1968 Fender Bandmaster amp and 2x12 speaker cabinet - $994 (OP).Excellent condition. It has the classic Fender tube amp sound in abundance, but it is too loud for my current needs. This is a 1968 Fender Bandmaster guitar amplifier head, silverface, "drip-edge" with AB763 circuit (same as blackface as far as I know). 1968 Fender Bandmaster amp and 2x12 speaker cabinet (OR BEST OFFER) - $995 (Overland Park).I added Weber Beam Blockers behind the grille covers. These speakers were around $100 each new. Ted Weber himself recommended these to me based on a description of my needs.
AB763 BANDMASTER SERIES
Included is my homebrew 2x12 open-back speaker cabinet, equipped with casters, corner braces, steel grille covers, and a pair of Weber Ferromax Vintage Series speakers. It was there when I bought it, and I prefer this vintage look to that of a replacement. There is a small tear in the front of the grille cloth as you can see. This amp still has its original power cord and grille cloth. This has brought it back to life! Both channels and the tremolo circuit are working fine. I have replaced the power supply caps, a few other electrolytic caps, and some worn-out resistors. I also replaced a couple other tubes (I don't remember which ones) until I felt it sounded right. It has fairly new power tubes (Electro-Harmonix 6L6EH). This actual amp is pictured in the Wikipedia article, to which I contributed. I have never played it hard and it's good to go. It has the classic Fender tube amp sound in abundance, but it is too loud for my current needs. Examining the Dumble links posted on Schematic Heaven, I noticed the 70's circuits were very similar to an AB763 Fender, sans tremolo, and comparing them to the Bandmaster layout, it made the most sense to sacrifice the farmost-right preamp stage of the Normal channel for the new Overdrive, while leaving the original Level pot in place but.
